A YEAR IN LIFE OF ONE BUTTERFLY BUSH (or Buckeye Bush)
Early SPRING - January - February - March:
OUR BUTTERFLY BUSH IS WAKING UP TO THE NEW LIFE
Late SPRING - April - May - BLOOMING IS STARTING:
All 11 photos below are the best of many I took on Saturday afternoon, First Day of Summer, June 21st 2003. This plant was totally surrounded
by all kind of butterflies. I have never seen so many of them together, flying and dancing, and chasing each other in the sun.
I didn't know of which one to take a shot first! And this is why this plant is called: BUTTERFLY BUSH:
Photos above were taken in daylight. But our Buckeye Bush is full of life at night as well - just look at the "Night Shift" below:
Yummy!!!Later in the SUMMER - small seeds begin to appear and slowly grow bigger & bigger.
And green leaves start changing their color & shape. The changes are fast and lead us into fall:
And in the FALL - The Beauty of blossoms changes into the beauty of Dry Branches and chestnut-like seeds:
And the CIRCLE OF LIFE continues...
